What is bending?

Metal bending, also known as folding or setting, is optional as post-processing for your sheet metal. Using a bending machine, a folding is made in your sheet metal, bending the sheet into the desired angle.

How does a bending machine work?

We bend metal sheets using a bending machine. The bending machine is a machine with an upper die and a lower die. The sheet to be bent is placed between the top die and the bottom die. The top die presses the sheet against the bottom die, causing the sheet to deform. When the top die is brought all the way down and the sheet has been properly deformed, the top die is brought back up and returned to its initial position. The lower die always remains in the same position. Different dies can be fitted, depending on the desired operation.

  3. First the plate material is cut to size, then the bending machine is prepared to start metal forming.

  4. The LVD ToolCell bending machine automatically sets the correct tools so that the operator can immediately start bending the sheet metal.

  5. The operator provides the cut sheet with the desired settlements, monitors quality and adjusts the machine if necessary.

  6. Your order goes to dispatch for shipping.

You can have various types of steel, stainless steel and aluminum can be formed with a bending machine at 247TailorSteel.

At 247TailorSteel, you can have products with a maximum of 2,980 x 1,200 mm be formed with a banding machine (to a maximum of 6 mm thick).
