20-12-2020

The Supervisory Board announces that Carl Berlo will become the new CEO of 247TailorSteel as of January 1, 2021. It is our belief that Carl, with his experience and knowledge, will make a substantial contribution to profitable growth in the coming years.

Carl Berlo has been active in the international commercial sector for more than 25 years. For the past 15 years he has been CEO at ATAG Heating BV. With his technical education, commercial background combined with leadership experience in building a successful internationally operating business, Carl has proven skills to achieve the desired growth of 247TailorSteel.

"I know 247TailorSteel as an ambitious and progressive organization that operates at the intersection of technology and commerce. The metal market has also experienced a tremendous change in recent years in which digitization and automation play an important role. I am pleased to be able to use my experience to take on the next phase of growth together with an enthusiastic team," said Berlo.

The leading pioneer with strong growth ambitions

Since its founding in 2007, 247TailorSteel has been the leading pioneer in the market and now has a large loyal customer base. Its machinery currently includes 37 laser cutting machines and 20 press brakes on a total production area of 36,000 m². Growth in the 2021 will take place primarily in Hilden, Germany. The site was completed in September 2020 and is being further expanded. Also, 247TailorSteel has now started making plans for a third German site between Stuttgart and Munich, to be operational by the end of 2022. The company will also significantly expand its sales activities in Belgium.

Challenges ahead

247TailorSteel will end the "corona year" 2020 with a growth of 5 to 10 percent compared to 2019. Given the current situation, this is a great result. "In the coming year, we want to continue the annual sales growth of 30 percent again," Berlo said. "We are going to invest a lot in IT and the further development of the Sophia® portal will play a central role. This way we want to offer customers even more convenience. Furthermore, the digitization of our own processes will continue. Especially in the area of internal logistics, steps will be taken with a warehouse management system."
