Unique projects in collaboration with R&R Steel Design
Although many of our customers are located in the Netherlands, the proportion of Belgian customers is increasing. One of these customers is R&R Steel Design; a real family business run by brothers Ruben and Ramses. They make various customized products from steel and wood, among other materials, always with the aim of creating a unique design. Tables, stair railings, steel doors, gates, stairs, patio covers; anything is possible. To obtain the materials, they have been turning to 247TailorSteel for several years.
The search for the perfect material to manufacture charging stations
Such is the case for a project R&R Steel Design has with one of their clients; Ladeeda®. They supply elegant charging stations for almost all types of EV chargers to various parties and private individuals within - and limited outside - Europe. Ramses de Leeuw, owner of R&R Steel Design, says: "Initially, the charging poles were produced in bare steel by 247TailorSteel. We then finished them so they could be metallized and powder coated. However, we were not 100% satisfied with the end result and so we decided something had to change.'
The dissatisfaction had to do with the fact that the material started to rust over time. In fact, the poles could not be finished on the inside. So R&R Steel Design started the search for a suitable alternative. 'We looked at some alternatives, such as aluminum and inox - or stainless steel. These materials did not fully meet our requirements, so we finally came up with the idea, together with 247TailorSteel, to produce the charging poles in Magnelis®," says Ramses de Leeuw.

R&R Steel Design is extremely pleased with the Magnelis® cores that 247TailorSteel started sourcing specifically for this project. 'Because the tubes are custom produced for us, we can limit the wall thickness of the charging bollards to 2 mm. This makes the poles light, yet strong. We can also optimize the lengths of the raw tubes to ensure minimum material loss,' Ramses explains. Magnelis® has many advantages. For example, this type of material is highly resistant to corrosion and has a long service life.

The cooperation between 247TailorSteel and R&R Steel Design is very pleasant. Ramses largely attributes this success to the contact with the Area Sales Manager of their region.
