How do I use edge finishing in Sophia®?
You can request edge finishing of sheet metal in Sophia®. We offer two options.
The first is edge breaking, also known as deburring. This involves removing sharp burrs from the edge. However, the angle of the edge remains 90 degrees. This is possible for stainless steel, aluminum, and steel. You can choose from various thicknesses. Steel is deburred on both sides as standard. For other materials, you can choose between single-sided or double-sided edge breaking.
The second option is edge rounding. Here, we not only remove a sharp edge, but also create a radius on the edge. This is only possible for steel with a thickness of 5 mm or more. You can choose whether you want the metal plate to be edge rounded on the burr side only or on both sides.
