Why does Sophia® not recognize my DXF/DWG file?

There can be several reasons for this.

Some graphics programs, such as Adobe Illustrator, save DXF and DWG files in a way that Sophia® cannot read properly. The solution is to save the DXF or DWG file using other software, such as SolidWorks. If you do not have this software available, please contact us via our support form in Sophia®.

Not only the file type causes problems, but also the drawing itself. If your drawing has at least one of the following errors, Sophia® will not be able to read it either:

  • There are multiple drawing lines on top of each other.
  • There are drawing lines that are not closed.
  • There are drawing lines that fall outside the contour.
  • There are intersecting contours in the drawing.
