What do I need to know about the k-factor?
When ordering folded parts via our online software Sophia®, you do not need to worry about the k-factor.
Sophia® calculates all the necessary information based on our practical values, ensuring the best dimensions.
Exception: You can upload a STEP file with bending parts in Sophia® and convert it to a DXF file to order the sheet metal flat pattern for your parts. This is useful if you want to do the bending yourself. Please note that the flat pattern is based on our practical values and you will first need to do a few tests on your press brakes to achieve the correct dimensions.
