How do I use bulk editing in Sophia®?

Bulk operations allow you to assign the same configuration to multiple parts at once. By configurations, we mean:

  • Material
  • Thickness
  • Edge finishing
  • Grinding/rolling direction
  • Cutting gas
  • Reverse plate
  • Material certificate
  • Engrave part name
When you open a project configuration in Sophia® and load parts, a dark blue bar appears at the top. In this bar, you will find the ‘bulk operation’ button.

NB: Assemblies and individual parts are displayed separately in groups. Each group has its own blue bar and ‘bulk processing’ button. You must therefore perform the bulk processing separately for each group.

Click on the ‘bulk editing’ button and a new window will open. Here you can select all parts that need to be made with the same configurations and assign the correct configurations using the drop-down menu on the right-hand side.

Please note that sheet metal and tubes must always be configured separately. Within an assembly, you can only select sheets or tubes on the left-hand side (and therefore uncheck the other). This can also be done in bulk: simply check or uncheck the checkbox in the gray bars.

Once you have assigned a material to all parts, click on ‘close’ to return to the overview.
